Home Inspector Liability Insurance: Eligible Classes

Home Inspector Liability Insurance Coverage is offered to residential home inspector(s) or home inspection firm(s), including inspectors with no little or no experience and new to the industry. Coverage(s) and Companies vary by state.  Check with our professional team for your state’s specific availability.

  • Premises liability (Bodily Injury or Property Damage during the course of a home inspection)
  • Radon liability for inspections
  • Termite (WDI) liability for inspections
  • “Referral” protection, extending coverage to entities that commonly refer inspectors to customers, e.g., real estate brokers

  • Septic and Water Purification testing inspection *
  • Limited Carbon Monoxide inspection *
  • Limited Mold Endorsement*
  • Franchise

Home Inspector Liability Insurance Premiums/Limits

  • Premium as low as $750 depending on state, company/program, coverages, industry experience, approved association membership, industry education, prior acts (conditional to prior insurance), as selected by the inspector
  • Multiple options E&O limits of liability
  • Multiple options for deductibles on E&O

Underwriting Requirements

  • Signed company specific application(s) and forms if applicable
  • Loss history if you have prior insurance
  • Resumes for any inspector with less than three years of experience
  • Copy pre-inspection contract required
  • Proof of retro date (if  prior acts coverage requested/prior insurance)
